The old site has a section with a bunch of articles on the subject and not only, abounding with links to other resources, tell me how important they are for search engines and will the site lose in the search results if they are refused? In addition to them, the site has a lot of other material that is directly related to the site itself, but without external links.

I will answer as a cap. If the links to the place and benefit the reader (links to manufacturers' websites, Wikipedia, etc.) - everything is fine, search engines even welcome such links. But if the links were sold from exchanges, non-thematic - there is a risk of falling under the filters.
