Time capsule and 2 disks. On one system, on the second user-files. How to recover?

Probably many people have 2 disks in their macbooks - one SSD for the system, and the second HDD on which user files are placed.
Recently there was a trouble - the HDD flew. Bought a new one and installed it. When restoring a system with a Time Capsule, you are prompted to select a disk for system recovery. I choose my SSD and the system seems to be recovering, but the HDD remains empty and, accordingly, does not let me into the system, because. no user files.
What is the best way to proceed in this case? There was wild sex with single user mode, where I created a new user, went under it, went into the capsule. Naturally, I did not see backups of the old user. I had to delete and re-create a user with a name that hangs in backups in order to at least see them. But even in this case, restore the user folder to a new disk and specifying a new path in the user settings, I did not achieve anything sensible. The system starts up, all the programs are there, but all the program settings (passwords, letters, etc.) disappeared somewhere or were not picked up.

In general, the decision will pull on the whole article. But if suddenly someone is also unlucky, then try BatChmod . I did not try, they suggested when I had already mastered my dances with a tambourine.
