TheNounProject vs IconFinder - which service can an icon designer get more profit from?
I have been uploading icons to TheNounProject for more than half a year, the output is 80 bucks (for all time) for about 200 icons. It is clear that it is not a fountain, but the icons do not gather dust idle on the hard drive and do not require food.
I came across this article:
https://www.quora.com/How-much-money-do-you-make-w...
In which the author switched to Iconfinder, they say there is much more exhaust there. Iconfinder itself is smooth as well, touting its benefits for the icon designer. The problem is that money is given only for exclusive icons that need to be rummaged only on this site.
That's what I think. Jump, right? Who faced, share experience.

There is no personal experience. But I met a post on the microstocker forum where a person wrote that they say that IconFinder statistics do not make ends meet. Type in the catalog you can see X downloads, and in payments Y, and the first is much more than the second. How it ended there, I don't know. Perhaps there is just some kind of time delay, the devil knows.
I will also stand by and listen.
Dear subscribers of the question. Why so quiet? If you subscribed because you have experience with naun or iconfinder or other similar microstock for selling icons - go ahead, don't be silent, yes, share your story. There is very little information on the internet about this topic. There is a lot of information about the sale of photos and other boring vectors, but there is trouble with the icons, so feel free to comment, share your earnings and details.
Thanks for a new resource for me (IconFinder), it will come in handy.
I, too, like Anna, have a meager experience on TheNounProject: since the end of 2015, two icons have been lying around (375 downloads in total, Free + Paid), which have earned about 8.5 dollars (2.29 cents per download). In principle, if extrapolated to 200 icons of the same quality, they would bring in 850 dollars during this time. Maybe it's unique content? I created these two icons for myself when I couldn't find anything on TheNounProject. I threw it on the resource for the sake of testing.
To search for icons, I can also advise Flaticon - the icons are smaller, but the prices and limits are more democratic. And supports payment via PayPal, which is extremely convenient for me.
You need to know a few tricks, then the profit on Iconfinder.com will be stable.
No one will write the details - it's stupid.
I have made about $12k on Iconfinder.com since December 2014. The flight is ok. The conclusion is also correct.
Financial inconsistencies due to subscriptions, there is a lower cost per purchase, and the download count is not a direct estimate of the number of purchases. The conclusion to PP is always clear.
It is not clear with The Noun Project. Somehow I filled in a few icons for the sake of interest. Once a month, a letter comes from them with the text that at the current time I have earned several dollars and as soon as an amount exceeding $10 accumulates, a transfer will be made to my PayPal.
So... What is there to look at? In 2016, something also ran up, but there was never an accrual.
