The Windows XP installer just shuts down the computer in the middle of the installation, why?

I've never experienced anything like this before, but I really don't know what to do. There is a computer, it is necessary to install Windows XP on it. It is XP, not the seven, especially not the ten, namely XP. The installer formats the drive to NTFS (no errors), copies files, then reboots into graphical mode to continue installation, draws in graphical mode

Collecting information
Dynamic update
Preparing for installation
Installing Windows
Completing installation

Passes the first three points, comes to "Installing Windows", it rustles for half a minute, you can see from the lights / sevetoidiots that it also refers to the installation CDROM (yes, it’s a CDROM, not a flash drive, everything is like in the good old days, only hardcore! and the computer is also 12 years old, no less) and after that"treacherously and without declaring war" extinguishes the computer. That is, it turns it off completely. Pressing the "Power" button again causes "Setup restarting", again the successful completion of the first three points, again a half-minute rustling of CDROM and hard disk on the fourth, "Installing Windows", and again the treacherous and wordless complete shutdown of the computer. If you press "Power" again, then all of the above is repeated.

I don’t know what to assume anymore, in the BIOS I tried all the options for "Power settings", "Hard disk mode" and others, and started the installation again, and even tried other assemblies instead of the original one from Microsoft - strictly the same thing, the installer reaches "Installing Windows", rustles for half a minute and turns off the computer. And you need Windows XP,

What is characteristic - earlier on this computer Windows XP was installed and it was Russian.

Can someone tell me what could be the problem?

Windows are not at all to blame here. There can be only two reasons for such a sharp shutdown:
1) Defective power supply. Replace the power supply in the system unit and check if the problem has disappeared.
2) CPU overheating, protection is triggered and the computer is cut down. View the temperature sensors in the BIOS. The normal operating temperature of the CPU in idle state should not exceed 50°C. If the temperature is higher, check the CPU cooling system to see if the cooler is spinning normally. Remove dust, replace the thermal paste, check the radiator mounting and put a drop of grease into the cooler bearing.

Try another disk or drive
and set the speed to the lowest when writing to a disc (not 16x/32x/etc.)

Unknown.
First, check the hardware - SMART disk, memory test, processor stress test.
Also check the distribution kit for readability - the disk may not be read corny.
