The weight of some folders with existing files is 0 why?

The weight in the properties of the folder through the total commander is 0, in the folder itself there are still many folders that already have weight. Why does it show like this? The same thing on the system backup folder - 0 and inside you also go inside folders by 0 and finally get to a file that weighs 35 gigabytes, why does the total weight initially show 0 in the properties?

Perhaps there is no access to the files, so it is impossible to read its properties.

Apparently inside the folder there are only links to other files and folders.
I don't use total, so I can only guess. Perhaps in the settings you can enable it to analyze the size of the links.

Yes, who knows.
For example, deduplication, or banal symlinks with hardlinks.
You need to understand that the NTFS system is quite rich in features.
Therefore, it is sometimes difficult, if not impossible, to estimate the disk space occupied by a file or folder.
In most cases, it is not a problem to calculate the total size of all files in a folder, but sometimes it is impossible to calculate how much disk space they occupy.
