The USB drive is not seen by the system - what should I do?

The problem is this. USB flash drive is not seen by the system (win7).
I connect / disconnect - there is a sound, but nothing more.
I tried to connect to my sister's laptop - the same thing.
Tried to execute format E: /FS:NTFS - writes "Unable to open volume for direct access".
What to do? Can it be brought back to life?
// UPD
When I try to boot from it in the BIOS, I don't see it, only my SSD and HDD.

The game is not worth the candle, given that there is no valuable information there. But it can be interesting to dig deeper :-)

Most likely you will need to disassemble it (if it is not solid), find out the controller model, download the corresponding utility from flashboot.ru and revive it.
Data will be lost when flashing the controller.
I myself faced a similar situation.
