The smartest and freshest OC for old hardware. Surfing?

Given:
Old laptop . Specifications intel Celeron T3300 , DDR2 - 2 GB.
Windows Vista - lags incredibly.
So, I want a smart OC for surfing the Internet, minimal code in conditional python, working in a text editor.
It is desirable that the OC is fresher, that is, its last update is no later than 2019. and preferably popular.
Can someone advise?
Thank you)

Fresh OS for old computers does not happen. You can put any linux, which asilite, with a minimum DE - xfce, lxde ...
If you want Windows - then only wik2k or XP - if the laptop is old, there should be firewood for it. In linux, whether it's old or new, it's not a fact that all devices will start up - this is a specific problem for laptops.

Fedora Spins https://spins.fedoraproject.org/ru/
with a bunch of DEs of varying severity.
Choose any to your taste, except for KDE Plasma - this monster will slow down.

Antix 19 (I recommend the Full edition). Instead of a bold graphical environment, a lighter window manager is used (IceWM by default, three more to choose from). And yes, there is no gluttonous systemd.
At the same time, you have an up-to-date OS based on Debian GNU / Linux 10.

I usually install Lubuntu. Lightweight and modern yet functional.

At one time, mint worked well on old hardware.
But any sites on html5 and streaming video will slow down.
