The process of working with translations in Symfony2 projects?

Hello everyone,
We have a multilingual Symfony2 project and we work a lot with translations. This process seems to me not convenient for both developers and translators.
Now we have such a flow of work with translations:
1. The developer creates functionality, creates tpl, etc.
2. Manually (or using the phpStorm plugin) creates translation keys (in certain domains) in xlf files
3. We have GUI for translation LexikTranslationBundle
4. After creating all the translations, the developer uploads the translations to the admin (our code looks only at files, not at the database)
5. Writes a letter to translators that they can translate and says which domains they need to translate for the task.
6. After translations, uploads them to xlf files
All this causes a lot of inconvenience.
How is the process of working with localizations built in your Symfony2 project?
Do you use separate translation services (such as weblate)?
