Recently (from today) some kind of leapfrog with the characters ", ', ^ has begun - when you enter one of these characters, the editor waits for the addition of some. For example, when you enter the character ' and then the character e, you get a character - é How can I fix this It's very inconvenient to write code.

You have the layout "USA - International" (USA - International). And you just need to put "USA".
This is not a problem with the editor, but with the keyboard. Press the spacebar, your sign. And as a solution, change the keyboard (which I can’t tell you in any way)
It works so-called. dead keys - a way to enter diactics, i.e. all sorts of different "modifiers" for letters. Usually on a Mac, they work if Option (Alt) is pressed. You probably have something with the keyboard or with the layout or with the settings (maybe some input for people with disabilities is enabled, some kind of sticky keys - the Mac is not at hand, not to say for sure).
