The optimal choice of university in the field of IT?

Hello!
This year I am finishing the 11th grade and I have a question related to the choice of a university. I am going to enter the CS faculty, I am especially interested in the topics of AI and machine learning. I almost completely cover the program "Matshkolnik" . Enthusiasm is just rushing :)
After dropping out, only 2 decent places remained: MIPT (FIVT) and HSE (PMI). Each has its pros and cons, including subjective ones (for example, there will be more ML at HSE, but, it seems, there is not even a basic physics course (and I love it). I am
also interested in all kinds of additional / evening classes and courses. First of all, I in turn, they were interested in ShAD and, possibly, NMU (professional skills will not add much, that is, purely for themselves).
Is my mat enough? training for these things, or is it better to get by with Coursera at first? I would be grateful for any (preferably detailed and reasoned) advice and recommendations.

To this question, you can immediately answer in the style of "There are no universities in Russia that could adequately prepare you for entering the IT market."
While you are cramming material from textbooks from 89-99, the real situation will jump so that after you leave the university you will feel "Stupid"
I think that initially, you formed the question incorrectly. Think not about what university you need to enter, but about what you are going to do in life. Be a successful employee in any company or start your own IT business, or like hundreds of other alaya specialists with diplomas without experience, walk and beat your forehead against the doors of the employer that are closing in front of you.
In 99% at the moment, the status of your diploma does not play any role. When I was looking for a job as a web developer in St. Petersburg, the employer was interested in my experience, not paper.
When you can formulate the question correctly, you will immediately understand what you should spend your next 5 years of your life on!
Please understand me correctly, I do not want to dissuade from the tower, at least for the general life experience it is needed, even if the tower is not complete. This is at least the appearance of the ability to climb out of a complete asshole and the development of perseverance + communication with people.
Just understand one thing right away, if someone tells you that in the MSC or in St. Petersburg or somewhere else there is a university that is just finally kick-ass cool cool cool and there are professors and so on, all this is PR. I studied 2007-2013 just the moment of active development of various areas of the IT market. All pairs boiled down to the fact that the teacher stood at the blackboard and read a lecture from a textbook from 88 on Delphi 7. Pascal was a dream aisle, and C / C ++ was taught at levels 1 + 1 = 2 about web development in general, I am silent, cooler than ie6 on tap XP and html - js - php at level 2+2=4 had nothing.
Therefore, in your place, I would do it this way, I would take some kind of average IT university with a low load on my head and the rest of the time I would throw absolutely all my time on googling modern trends in IT and studying them, after 5 years you have there will be a diploma and knowledge in the current situation of the IT market. It will also be a huge plus if during these 5 years while studying you will still try some of your projects, just not within the framework of the university, because everything you do at the university is the property of the university!
Well, maybe something like this)))

In fact, it doesn't matter where - you just need to learn how to LEARN, form the emotional and psychological core of the personality and the desire to achieve your goals. And the goals can be - the study of a certain subject, algorithm, programming language, philosophy, culture of programmers, web technologies, or anything in general, even earn a hundred thousand bucks as a result. It is difficult to guess with the choice of university. There are always pluses and minuses. IMHO - Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as other cities (at least 1 million inhabitants), where there are universities - quite provide normal basic natural science training. This does not apply to technology, novelties in the field of the web or programming policy, this applies to the base, fundamental knowledge. But a lot depends on the student himself, of course, and his aspirations.

I would go from the opposite. I chose the university where I feel most comfortable to study, where you will be the "star" of the course, and whose diplomas are quoted no lower than average, i.e. including MAI, MPEI, MIREA etc. Scientific work, for someone who has decided on a direction, is hard to do at a university. In 99%, they will not load what you want.
In the middle peasants, loading with a useless and uninteresting load will not be so strong, respectively, time is freed up. As follows from your message Laziness, this is not about you :). The freed time can be devoted to communication with teachers from various universities dealing with your scientific topics, most of them will not refuse to cooperate) and special courses.
And you can already go to the magistracy to the department of the university where your scientific patron works.
--- this is not a classic option...
Well, the classic, if more algorithms - Moscow State University, MIPT
If more start-ups, business - HSE
A real product in high-tech areas - MIPT.
It is also worth looking at out-of-town options ...
---
In any case, do not choose by what they read there and in what volumes ... Choose by party, business, scientific, student.

To begin with, I myself studied at MIREA at the Department of Computer Security. I say right away - this specialty is an excellent continuation of this program by a mat-school student. Teaching starts with set theory, group theory, and permutation groups and beyond. This is later reinforced by good practice. Of the programming languages, C ++ and Assembler are studied - IMHO, this is an excellent base.
I will support the idea of Vladimir Merkulov: I also left after the third year, because. completely and completely immersed in web programming to the present. But at the moment, employers really need not papers, but experience. At the moment, I myself work at MIPT, and to my surprise, this university has an excellent base for practice and student development, in particular, an endless number of laboratories and project support.
I also suggest looking towards the IT center of Russia - the city of Novosibirsk.
In fact, the tower is needed more for life experience, albeit not complete. The choice is yours.

If you want to engage in Machine Learning, then you can’t go anywhere without SHAD. True, there is also the Department of Mathematical Methods of Forecasting at the VMK MSU, some of whose teachers teach, including at the ShAD. But there is much more interesting in ShAD!
My advice is this: go to Moscow State University / PhysTech / HSE, study mathematics diligently for the first 2-3 years (matan, discrete (including algorithms, many algorithms), algebra (it seems that nothing is needed beyond its linear part), theoretical and matstat, optimization methods, functional analysis, numerical methods and differentials (a rather useless thing in ML, as it seems to me)), and then in SAD. There will already be subjects like machine learning (a lot of things), computer vision, algorithms for working with big data, and others no less interesting.

And why not Baumanka, for example, AI-9 is possible? They teach quite modern things, they try to stay on a par with modern technologies, all sorts of Hadoop are present, etc., etc. Subjects are trying to review every year, there are rumors in the trail. year there will be a course on Clojure for example.
