The mail client on mac spontaneously opens - why and what to do?
Greetings
I'm sitting at the computer, opened the mail, looked, closed by clicking on the cross, the application is active. Then I walked away from the computer for half an hour, it, of course, turned off, I clicked the mouse, it turned on. I sit, I sit, and here, for reasons unknown to me, after a few minutes, the mail window spontaneously opens. Noticed this many times. Has anyone experienced this and/or knows why this is happening?

For half a year now I’ve been watching this kind of crap somewhere .... it really infuriates me when you work in some application in full screen mode for no reason at all in SplitView mode, mail opens ... macOS Mojave 10.14.5 ... all hopes for macOS Catalina
UPD: I solved this problem for myself once and for all) I turned off the default mail application to hell and switched to Spark, a very cool mail client, 100 times better than the default one. And did the same on the iPhone. I advise everyone.

When Mail is in full screen mode, messages open in Split View by default. If you want messages to slide up from the bottom of the screen instead, choose Mail > Preferences, click General, then deselect Open Messages in Split View in Full Screen.
maybe it will help someone:
the solution is not too elegant, but a couple of days and the situation is not observed ..
- remove Google account from accounts
- connect as <another mail account> (if two-factor authentication, then you need a password not for an account but for an application (search in google settings))
Good afternoon! Ran into a similar problem after updating MacOS. Can you clarify: did you manage to somehow solve the problem?
Catalina 10.15.7 same issue. I rummaged through the discussions and found a solution for myself not to close the Mail window with a cross, but to minimize it (yellow button).
