The HP ProLiant ML150 G3 server does not see the second processor, where to dig?
Introductory: This server, BIOS is the last one, 2008. When installing 2 Xeon E5335 refuses to start. On one - everything works fine. Changing the places of the processors and resetting the BIOS did not change anything. prots of one revision. Tell me where to dig? On the HP site, something was said about additional configuration when using these and not only 4-cores. What does it mean - additional configuration?

In DataShite, according to your link, compatible processors do not go by themselves, but as Kits. And Kita is for this server. Find out what these whales include - and everything will become clear.
Had a similar issue with HP G5 servers. 2 identical servers, each with one 2-core processor. I decided to buy a 4-core processor, stick it in one server, put these two 2-core ones in the second. It started up with a 4-core, but with two 2-core nichrome it doesn’t start. It turned out that what was needed was not a processor, but a Kit. The Kit includes a Processor, a Radiator and a Board that fits into the mother. With a fee it starts, without a fee - no. And besides, the fans on native coolers are 5-pin, not 4, as usual. With a 4-pin cooler, it also did not start.
Check the layout of the memory slots. If you have only two slots occupied, then 2 processors will not work. Plus, it is very desirable that all modules are the same (or at least the banks were identical)
