The hard drive is displayed but does not boot + it is impossible to reinstall the OS, what should I do?

In short, I happened to get 4 IDE hard drives of unknown origin (Maxtor Diamond 120 GB, Seagate Barracuda 40 GB (2 pcs), Seagate ATA IV 20 GB).
All 4 are displayed before the start of the OS with the name and volume, in the BIOS too.
There is a problem for everyone: when you try to boot BSOD, and it jumps so quickly that the error code is not visible.
When you try to reinstall the OS, it hangs tightly at the "Please wait" stage (Windows XP, there are no others at hand).
The problem is with them, because before that there was a obviously working 500 GB screw and there were no problems.

I think you need to set the sata mode in the BIOS: instead of ahci to Ata
And boot from legacy and not uefi The
same with xp, you need to separately install ahci drivers in it so that you don’t catch a blue screen
Better look for an assembly with integrated ahci drivers
If you need disks test, it's better to boot from a live cd (hiren's boot cd for example)
And test them there

Well, select the mode before loading - "Do not restart in case of failure"?
