The disc you inserted cannot be read on this computer. How to fix printer connection error?

When I connect an HP printer via USB and try to set up a connection, I get "The disc you inserted cannot be read on this computer."
macOS, I downloaded the drivers from the off site, it's useless.
Not the first year everything worked without interruptions. Another PC (also a poppy connects without problems).
The other day there was a similar error (but he saw the printer, though only as a scanner). The problem was solved by installing a new version of the OS (sierra to high sierra).
Not even a day of use has passed, the problem recurs, but now even as a scanner it does not detect the printer.
