The cybersquatters took the domain and uploaded a copy of the site to it. How to get content removed?

A couple of years ago I made a website for a company. The fate of the site was not easy, but in the end it was abandoned and no one followed it. Time passed and recently I accidentally stumbled upon it and discovered an amusing thing: outwardly the site looked normal, but on top there was a banner "Attention, the domain is not paid!"
banner_dra.jpgWhat happened?
Apparently, a certain office monitors domains in advance, which will soon run out and makes copies of the sites that are on them. Then they buy the domain and put a copy of the site on it with their banner on top. The link from the banner leads to a page with an offer to return the domain for a small amount of 4 to 9 thousand rubles.
What is the actual question?
I understand perfectly well that I myself am a fooland the domain needs to be monitored, but that's not even the point. To hell with the domain, no one needs it anymore, but the fact that they use a [crooked] copy of the site is very unpleasant, because there is contact information there and in general, in fact, this is theft (I mean the site).
So now I'm wondering what to do with it. I doubt that it is possible to resolve the issue peacefully, because the link from the banner clearly says that it will not be possible to reach an agreement. There is no possibility to use the force option, because the office is located in another city. It remains the option to resolve the issue in the legal field.
Maybe someone had experience in a similar situation?

Collect evidence of ownership of the domain and site / content, start with letters to the domain registrar and the current host of the site copy, describe the situation in detail and correctly (without hysteria). Perhaps this will be enough, the chances are small, but they are. Further, according to the circumstances, if there is copyright content, registered trademarks or something else of value - already a statement to the police and then to the court.

I don't understand, have you tried writing to them?
It will be hard to return the domain, of course. But they are simply obliged to remove your phone numbers, just like any mention of your company.

It remains the option to resolve the issue in the legal field.
This is disadvantageous regarding the return of the domain for a small amount.
But first, you can buy a domain (having received the details) and then you can resolve the issue in the legal field.
