The collapse of RAID 1, the sequence of actions to save the system?

Hello!
There is a desktop computer on an ASUS P8H67-M LE motherboard , RAID 1 was created based on the motherboard controller (2 1TB disks in the mirror, seen as one disk in Explorer). The free space on the disk(s) is running out now. How to properly remove one of the disks from the array so that the system (Win7 Home) continues to work, and I have an additional free hard disk?
Thanks in advance for your sound advice!

@oia

it is necessary to degrade the RAID and break the second screw as you need

OK, thanks for answer. It means it is necessary to refuse an array in BIOS?
And if you just disconnect the second screw from the power supply? How will RAID behave?
