The Book of Iron

Hello!

The girl became interested in the device of the computer. And not from the series "here is the processor, memory, etc.", but up to "buses, bridge, etc." Can you suggest a book for a deeper knowledge of the computer device?
I was thinking for Troelsen's "Computer Architecture", but I think it's pretty heavy for beginners.

Thank you!

It seems to me that a girl is much more interested in hearing this from you, and not from a book.

Computing systems, networks and telecommunications, I do not remember the author.

Andrew Tanenbaum " Computer Architecture ".

In my opinion, you should go to the nearest bookstore and look at the literature "for dummies." Everything is simple and with pictures. Troelsen and Tanenbaum, IMHO, too much.

I would agree with you, but unfortunately the ROG series is quite… um… difficult to parse. Plus we are going to upgrade the laptop. It won't be boring, trust me. :)
But she is more interested in how transistors work, how information is transferred from the hard to the processor, etc.
For example, I recently heard a question from her: what are compilers / interpreters written in?
We agreed on the scheme that someone very smart and diligent long ago typed the compiler / interpreter code with zeros and ones. Almost like in brainfuck :) But, as a future engineer, I understand perfectly well that this is not the answer.
By the way, I did not see a similar article on Habré. Perhaps, who will undertake. :)
