The block that appeared in the sidebar largely duplicates the author's menu. What for?
The only explanation is that it is possible that then they will abolish or remake the menu and submenu, which is now very inconvenient to use (makes you click 2-3 times and wait for a reboot to walk through it). Therefore, perhaps in the block with class = "user_info" we are seeing a harbinger of the future - a new organization of information about the user on the site.
This is especially evident with the new update of the HabrAjax script (0.867): there, for convenience, when viewing information about the user in the frame (for example, by clicking on the user or on your nickname), it was necessary to move the contents of this block under the menu. And now all the information and links from the menu have become duplicated and overlapped by function. Example:
Now I wonder where the development will go: will the menu and submenu be completely removed or will the 2 navigations be left together?
(The question, in fact, is for futurologists and secret user agents in the camp of the enemy of the site developers.) :)
