The best PL for system automation (for a system administrator)?

Dear "Toasters", who will tell you the best scripting language for the system administrator, which will be used everyday?

On Linux? bash, python, whatever.
On windows? - powershell.

Of course, for UNIX systems, the first thing that comes to mind is BASH + Python, but looking at such tools as puppet and chef, I would like to recommend Ruby (the configuration is written in it).
For Windows - PowerShell.

I agree with my comrades about * nix systems.
But with Windows it is harder, there is no such language there that will "drag" everything, so act according to the circumstances.
I use in Windows: batch, python, powershell, VB
