The best flash drive for Linux Live mode?

I plan to buy a flash drive specifically for boot, so I would like to know some of the nuances. Namely:
Describe the features of a flashcard that will be used mainly to run Linux from it in live mode.
What is the average volume needed, is USB 3.0 important or not, which models have shown themselves best in this field in constant load mode?

Better than a USB2 flash drive - in USB3 you are more likely to encounter unknown alien technology that will not allow you to boot from this flash drive.
I once used Corsair Flash Voyager USB 2.0, everything was ok. She lived for two years. Since then, I have moved to Zalman VE200 with a 90G ssd inside for similar tasks - which I recommend to you.

1. Flash drives in live mode do not last long.
2. Speed is fundamental.
IMHO an external SSD. And even better inside.
Better yet, put Linux in a virtual machine using vagrant, a new one for each project.

absolutely any. the main thing from 8 gigs and above. I have been living on 16 gigs since 2011.
USB 3.0 will be faster, but there are flash drives that read like USB 3 and write like USB 2.

Why Live? Install the required Linux there using regular means, it will be no different from a regular installation on an HDD / SSD, except for the speed of work, of course. The only thing you need to properly configure is to reduce read / write cycles to extend the service life.
