The beginning of the game design journey?

Good afternoon! My sister really wants to get into game design, but to be honest, I can’t find information, or rather I can’t find specifics.
What hard skills?
Is it worth it to go to uni/technical school for this?

Just googling on "game design" already gives out a bunch of information, and yes, "university/technical school" does not teach this.

I recommend to study GODOT:

To begin with, game design is divided into:
- programming (for programmers)
- graphic design and modeling (for artists)
- scripting and directing, everything related to plots and settings (for writers)
And all this is managed by the game director.
So, to begin with, decide which of these three areas suits you best, who are you, a designer, programmer or writer?

I have been teaching game design to my daughter since she was 10 years old. She has an acc on github and already has three years of experience and a lot of developments.
When she is 18 she will have a decent portfolio, 8 years of experience and other bonuses.
And this is before uni.
