The agony of choice. Orange Pi or Raspberry Pi?
Good afternoon.
I want to buy MicroPC.
Required tasks:
- Media server (Kodi);
- Home file storage;
- Torrent (Transmission);
- Remote testing of scripts (python) not too consuming;
- Home test web server.
What do you guys recommend? Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi? Is there a difference?
I liked the Orange Pi model with 2GB of RAM, but I would like to hear the opinions of experienced users of these little animals)
Thanks in advance!
UPD: On the OS, I would like Xubuntu, well, or any Debian like it

Orange PI is more productive in terms of price / performance ratio
Raspberry Pi - more reliable and less problems in setting up and using
I used orange a lot - a very buggy image of linux (which is armbian), there is no bug tracker, even there is nowhere to send the bug to them. You have to spend a lot of time on things that should work out of the
Raspberry box. I did not use it, but it seems to be more common and I think there are fewer bugs.
Orange do not recommend
Raspberry Pi (still version 2) works with almost this list of tasks (except the last two) without problems. Already, one might say, for years with periodic updates, incl. with the transition to new versions of kodi. There were no problems. But it's better to backup the SD card ..)
I am also for Rasbery. Although the memory is smaller and the percentage is weaker, yes it doesn’t care on this platform. You're not going to build a minicomp, are you? It doesn’t matter what is there, what is there further than a couple of tabs on the browser you will not leave in this regard. And for crafts, Rasbery is better documented.
