Test task before an interview for a php programmer, divorce?

There is no invitation to the office, they immediately sent a test task by e-mail.
Did anyone get a job after such interviews or is it a 100% scam?

depends on the task, but personally, I would be glad before the interview to have the opportunity to look at the candidate’s code (this is why empty profiles on githubs, etc. upset me), this immediately allows you to understand the developer’s train of thought, his weaknesses, and further already in detail to speak. For in theory everyone knows and understands everything, but in practice it turns out that "all this is just for interviews."

Run as far away from these "smarts" as you can.
The test task is pure nonsense, an inflamed fantasy of those who want to amuse their CSV.
To hire a person, it is enough
- to look at his code
- to ask some basic questions regarding the field

Test tasks must be completed. I do some of the tasks, some I get shitty code and you understand that you have not yet grown to the required level. So do it, even if it's not right. This way you will understand your own strengths. And it will be seen whether you think or just suffer nonsense.
Here I am pure govnokoder. I work at one-time part-time jobs, I constantly try to get a good job, but I can’t pull up with the level. I upgrade every time :))) Sometimes they just ask to freelance. Dare.

Well, it's generally good practice. Helps to weed out those who are not suitable before the interview.

Everything is twofold. Once they gave me a task, difficult and interesting. I did it for 2 weeks! And then he worked in this office for many years with an excellent salary.
And there was a time when they asked for a task, I agreed, they sent it - as if they had cut it out of a training manual. I did - and silence. It looks like someone helped pass the coursework.
But I wouldn't ask for assignments upon admission. IMHO, it's enough to ask for a code + a good interview. And pull requests with code reviews in the first month.

I got a job like this twice, but one task was for thinking (and later I found it on Habré among python tasks), and the second for knowing Bitrix. But clearly none of this was free work, but was required for the assessment of knowledge.
There was another case, but there it was not quite a test task. It was necessary to make a blog for them, but it was paid in full, like freelance. In fact, I didn't go there.)
