At the moment, a very promising and popular UI framework, along with GWT and Spring MVC
Don't worry too much about JSF. I have not seen a single office that uses the same technologies on different projects, everything is different, you need to be savvy in a little bit of everything, experience will come with projects. And JSF is rarely used.
JSF is for internal network projects where the data link is a local network (which is why there are so few public projects on it).
There are many additions for it, sets of ready-made components ( 1 , 2 , 3 ). It is quite convenient to build complex responsive interfaces, it is itself component-based and integrates well with JavaEE applications.
But for Internet sites, it is rather poorly suited.
