Telecommunication sales. What do you need to know?
Good afternoon! Offered a job in a company that sells telecommunications devices (not services!). I'm going to accept the invitation, but before that I would like to understand at least a little what I'm dealing with. Prior to that, I worked for a long time in the field of restaurant business, as they say, I am an experienced salesperson. But there is one big “BUT”: I don’t rummage around in the product that I should sell, I read a bunch of articles and books that turned out to be useless for me. I'm looking for information about devices that would be useful for working with clients. That is, I do not need to know how a router, switch and other devices work (of course, such knowledge will not be superfluous, but only the fraction with which I can communicate on the same wavelength with customers). You need an understanding of how to build networks using a particular product, taking into account the location and purpose of installing networks. And finally, I will voice my question: Where can I look for such information, with a minimum of dry theory, with examples of using devices in practice. I hope for your help. Good luck!

I'm afraid that without knowledge in the target area there is nothing to do. In do not understand not the consumer not the producer. With the sale of cars, you have a better chance - because there you can at least play the role of a consumer (understand him).
