TAU, Solodovnikov, is it worth reading?

Is it worth reading the three-volume V. V. Solodovnikov "Technical Cybernetics: A Series of Engineering Monographs. The Theory of Automatic Control" 1967 in order to "understand" TAU or is this work obsolete? My tau level: listened to a semester of lectures and did not understand anything. Maybe there is literature recognized in the circle of engineers as the best for beginners?

TAU will not become obsolete, because it is based on higher mathematics :)
what I listened to and neither .... did not understand in TAU this is normal.

Yes, it's better to find a new one.
Two things need to be understood: stability (phase and amplitude margin) and the quality of the transient process.
Now there are a lot of textbooks. You can find something from foreigners.
