Systems for efficient classification of information

Hello gentlemen. I had difficulty with the classification of information. I write a very significant amount of documentation and do software development. Sometimes there are situations when I want to make a note about something or highlight some read article, because this information seems to me significant and I would not want to lose it. In general, I had a need to classify my own knowledge from the field of development, as well as to preserve and classify the information I study.

How I tried to solve the issue:

1. The most trivial solution is a ballpoint pen (pencil) and paper. The problem is that when there are several large notebooks on the table covered from cover to cover, and in a drawer of a pile of A4 sheets, it is very difficult to understand them, it is difficult to track the evolution of ideas, in a word, it is impossible to effectively operate information.

2. I tried to use documents on the computer. I created directories and sorted different types of data: videos, publications in various formats, my own documents and developments, by directories, and also accumulated a set of links in bookmarks until I ran into a situation of category adjacency - the intersection of knowledge areas when classification could not be unambiguous - the classification is destroyed. In general, this turned out to be a very inconvenient decision.

3. I thought about specialized systems, in particular, data tagging, but then the ability to track the evolution of changes and the relationship between knowledge areas disappears.

I seriously thought about developing such a system based on the need that arose with experience and tasks. But I still hope that systems for solving the problem of knowledge classification exist. I will be glad to any information and information that will help me solve this problem.

In my opinion, Evernote of the currently existing systems is the closest to the described task.

I do not think that such systems of classification of knowledge exist.
In addition to folders and tags, there is also a wiki.
Depending on the subject area, you need to choose some combination of these approaches.
If you are a developer, then you probably know about the existence of web systems for project management. Such systems usually include record keeping. There, both wikis and tags and various other mechanisms are usually used.
Accordingly, we separate the task of saving articles on the Internet and documents from classification.
You can save, for example, in Evernote or OneNote, specifying some specific tag. And then you can add the received links to the project management system.
