Synchronizing home folder between two Ubuntu?

There is a home computer and a netbook, there was a desire to synchronize the home folder (with all its bashrc, vimrc etc) to work on the stationary computer, and then open the beech and once everything was synchronized with you.
I tried to do this using Dropbox and symlinks, but nothing intelligible happens (after reading the Internet I still don’t understand whether the dropbox can work with symlinks or not).
Who decides this issue? Please share.

You can move the dropbox folder to a separate folder in home, and make the home folder a symlink to the dropbox folder.

Thanks to all!
The fact that there are a lot of storages is understandable, it was exactly who was interested in how to synchronize their data, and specifically the hamster (to be honest, I used to think that Ubuntu One should have some kind of built-in ability specifically for synchronizing and versioning home, personal data etc., but it seems not).
On the advice of Eddy_Em, fshp did the following:
put all the necessary files-folders into the Dropbox folder, and made symlinks from them into the home folder.
Everything is cool, but problems arise if you need to remove some file from versioning, but at the same time leave it in place in the folder.
