SVG. Perspective and resources?

I have long wanted to learn svg, but there was no time. Now there is time and I think to spend it on studying svg, but for some reason I doubt that this is relevant now, I don’t know why. Please advise good Russian-language resources for learning and the perspective of svg.

I don’t think that there are a lot of resources that are devoted only to SVG, and even more so in Russian (I haven’t noticed such yet), so read popular frontend blogs: yoksel, css-live, frontender.info, posts about SVG appear in them
