Support for memory frequencies by the processor

Hello!
Faced with an interesting situation:
The motherboard supports a memory frequency of 1600 MHz, and the processor, according to the specifications: 800/1066
Question: can a processor with this specification work with faster memory?

Specify:
MB: ark.intel.com/products/61040/Intel-Server-Board-S2400GP2
CPU: ark.intel.com/en/products/64614/ProductCollection.aspx?brand=41492

It should work, but the speed will be limited by the ceiling of the processor. the memory controller is in it (although I would still play it safe and check before buying).
In this case, it is better to take memory not with a higher frequency (the ceiling is still DDR3-1066), but with lower timings - this table can help in choosing the best planks in terms of price / speed ratio .
