Suggestions for DIY from an old MFP
There is an old MFP (some kind of Lexmark), torn up, but all the stuffing is there - a lamp with a mechanism from a scanner, a printer mechanism, an information window with buttons. I want to make something out of this

I gave the old scanner to a friend as a bed for a homemade CNC machine. I left the LDS with a control board and a power supply from there - all this was a lamp.
The old printer was disassembled into spare parts such as gears, rollers, and motors were taken from there. A case from an old BubbleJet (over time changed to a case from a cheap HP DeskJet) worked in the kitchen as a breadbasket. Some HP was at one time converted into a storage of ordinary CD-DVD discs and gifted to a friend.
By the way, the motors in the scanner-printer, which have 4-6 contacts, are step motors and are controlled either by special ones. microchips-drivers, or microcontrollers with the necessary strapping.
Thanks, but is it really possible to light a lamp without a control board? And what kind of voltage is needed?
I propose to take out all the insides, remove the glass and get a good trash can;). The simplest option!
From the body - a kennel for a cat.
From the filling - a lamp on a leg with servos =)
There was (I have) CCFL - cold cathode fluorescent lamp. This is not an incandescent lamp, which is enough to connect to a battery or an outlet. CCFL requires a more complicated connection and a few kilovolts through a step-up transformer for ignition. So a fee is required.
Another thing is that it can be small . In my case, the inverter from the lamp and all the scanner electronics were on the same board - I just cut off the part with the inverter, and threw the rest away.
