Strange caret behavior in JetBrains RubyMine

Interested in how you can make the behavior of the caret in the subject IDE more standard. If you click on any line in the editor at a position to the right of its last character, then the caret will appear exactly in the column that was under the mouse cursor, and not after the final character of the line, as in many other editors. Climbed a lot of sites, and such a question, it seems, was not raised anywhere. Does anyone find this behavior convenient?

Settings -> Editor, remove "Allow placement of caret after end of line" and you will be happy.
