Storing passwords in a password-protected .ods file, disadvantages?

Thinking about organizing my passwords and leaning towards using a spreadsheet.
Standard storage programs are crammed with functionality I don't need, like auto-complete forms. And the functionality I need in the face of storing arbitrary textual information is not provided.
The file can be easily backed up and synchronized through, for example, dropbox.
I would like to know what disadvantages of this method I do not notice?
