SSD choice: Intel vs OCZ?
After the first bad experience with SSD , I plan to make a second one.
Last time, the reason turned out to be a not entirely problem-free controller, so this time I'm thinking of taking the latest generation drive.
The choice fell on Intel 510 and OCZ Vertex 3. Again, according to reviews, Vertex 3 is recommended everywhere ...
Advise what is better to choose. Maybe a different make and model?
PS The motherboard supports SATA 6G.

I advise you to choose Crucial m4. Vertex 3 is good only for large volumes (240 and above). The speed of both writing (which is normal) and reading (which is not normal) also depends on the size of the drive, which means Vertex 3 120GB is guaranteed to be slower than Vertex 3 240GB even in reading. At Crucial, for example, even a small 64 GB on reading shows the same results with big brothers.
In addition, you already had one problematic disk from OCZ. The new models of "children's sores" are also enough, take a look at their forum. Does experience not teach?
As for the speeds. In ssd, I appreciate the random speed, that is, the number of iops on different volumes. High linear speeds, in my opinion, are only a bonus and not the reason why it is worth buying an ssd (I want a ruler - it’s better to take a few regular hdds in raid0, there will be both speed and volume). So, according to random, Vertex 3 does not shine even in top volumes. They have an interesting Max IOPS model, but there are too few statistics on it yet. Therefore, I prefer the proven and trouble-free m4.
