Spring boot, in what cases should it be used for prototyping a web application?

Good afternoon, dear development gurus. Please share your experience of developing with Spring and Spring boot. Should I use Spring boot for prototyping a web application? Have you seen cases of using such systems in production solutions? What are the disadvantages of such an approach. Is it possible to remove the Spring boot from the application in the future, leaving just Spring or even switch to another java framework? Are there any other adequate ways to create a prototype for a java web application with the ability to then increase the functionality in the prototype?

See Play framework . It is better to take version 1.3, because. 2.x imprisoned under a rock.
PS: no one forbids using the spring in play.

Worth it, and not just for that. Pay attention to Spring Data - it will speed up and simplify the work of "communication" with the datastore.
Yes. Moreover, in fairly serious projects. To implement a microservice architecture.
The downside is that a lot (talking about the configuration) is done automatically (this is a plus) and magically (and at the same time, a minus). Those, if customization is needed, the approach starts to lose its meaning. On the other hand, in most typical cases, it is not required.
Maybe. Much depends on the architectural style. Try to minimize the dependence on the framework in general. Read about DDD.
There is. Already named Play, Ninja...
