Spontaneous turning on of the computer

Something weird has been going on with my computer lately. Over the past 2 weeks, he turned on CAM 4-5 times at exactly 3:00 am. I looked at the whole BIOS - there is no possibility of switching on according to the schedule (asus p 5q), and I never changed anything there. Windows 7 was recently reinstalled. I don't even know what to think anymore, it's getting scary =)

Based on experience, I can say that in 50% of cases it helps to blow out dust from the PSU, in 30% - to find a fan that does not spin and replace it, and in the remaining 20% there are software and user glitches.
For example, I once met this - there is a scheduled defragmentation through a non-standard defragmenter at 8 in the morning, and in its settings it is worth turning off the PC after the defragmentation is completed. If I had not accidentally climbed into it, I would not have understood. So if the problem is not in the hardware, look at the schedules and the software config associated with the schedule.

Wake on lan?
Maybe local neighbors are having fun?

Look in the BIOS for the Wake On Lan setting. Turn it off if it's on.

Since wake on lan is turned off, do they accidentally turn off the electricity at night? Can be set to automatically turn on after a power failure.

Probably installs updates.

I had such a case. The BIOS was configured to automatically turn on the computer on a double click of the mouse. and the mouse was old and, as it turned out, spontaneously clicked (closed the contact).

Look at the Windows Update and Task Scheduler settings. My laptop also woke up at the same time to install updates.

In the power settings, disable the "Allow wake timers..." option.

The Asus P5Q has the ability to turn on by schedule: Power menu - APM Configuration - Power On By RTC Alarm. If set to Enabled, fields for entering the time will appear (see the manual , section 3.6.5).
