It is necessary to add a hint to the spinner, i.e. so that its first element is not in the drop-down list. There are libraries on the net that solve this problem, but they may not work on some versions of android. How do you solve this problem in your projects?

Write your own control that does what you need. MB fork a lib that does not work on some version, fix it, and send them a pull request
