If you need the browser to wait for the font to load and only then show the text, then put this in @font-face:
But (!!!) I don’t advise you to do this, your site loads quickly and well, the content appears almost instantly, why worsen. 300 ms of time when the wrong font is displayed is complete garbage. It is much more important that your first site content loads quickly. But if the client wants it, then it will help.
And you will not increase the speed of loading and processing fonts with Google Fonts CDN.
