I wrote this for myself, but, unfortunately, that version has not been preserved.
Now there is a program that shows the spectrum according to the data from the wav file. There is also a code for working with a microphone through alsa. If you take a little work with a file and connect these two parts, I can send you the code. Wrote under Linux using Qt, C++ and libfftw.
From normal software, I can advise www.sonicvisualiser.org , but it seems like he can’t work in real time. It's just that the program is very nice, I can't help but mention it. =)
don't forget the meterbridge - it's a bunch of widgets hooked to the jack: vu, oscilloscope, jellyfish (stereo panorama monitor), etc.
Also, you can imagine jamin in monitor-only mode. But this is “out of a gun to sparrows”: that's how it is - a multi-band compressor / equalizer for the master section.
