Sound disappears on Linux Mint, what should I do?
Hello.
My aunt brought a laptop from abroad for my mother, it had VIN 10. First of all, of course, I upgraded the laptop to Linux. My choice fell on Linux Mint, the easiest thing for a mother to learn.
It would seem that everything works and her Odnoklassniki work with the same habit as in "Windows", but the sound constantly disappears on the laptop. It helps either rebooting, or inserting headphones (you take it out - there is no sound), or switching to sleep mode, and then back. But the sound only returns for a couple of minutes.
What can I do to make it permanent? With Linux for now. Notebook from Toshiba.

Can i ask you? And why demolished 10-ku and put Linux? Moreover, this is not the system that you know.
The next time the sound disappears, try running `dmesg` in the console - it might say something interesting. And so it's dark.
You can also play around with `pavucontrol` (I don’t know if I need to set it in Mint separately from PulseAudio or not), disable output to HDMI, for example.
