Software for viewing your video collection through a web interface

There is a Linux-based home file washer, and among other things, there is a video collection in a variety of formats that I would like to be able to watch from a browser on any device. A kind of YouTube, but for myself.

More specific requirements look like this:

  1. Web interface, video display via flash player or <video> tag.
  2. Linux support.
  3. The ability to convert video to a format supported by a browser or flash (depending on the way it is shown), ideally to do it on the fly.
  4. The ability to watch different videos from different computers at the same time (this is one of the reasons why vlc-shares and similar video streaming solutions did not fit).

AirVideo turned out to be very close to the ideal , but:
  1. No desktop support
  2. Android client is very unstable

Does anyone know similar software? I’m even ready to put up with manual finishing - everything is easier than doing from scratch :-)
