Software for image control on a large screen/projector?

In general, such a situation.
Need a program to manage the image on a large screen / projector
Basic requirements

• the ability to switch videos / images imperceptibly for the viewer
  
• basic control of the current video (pause/restart/rewind)
  
• choice of black/white screen/preloaded splash screen
  

Mac support is highly desirable, but Win/Linux will
also do. The ability to include a camera image is also desirable, but not required.
Software I tried and didn't like (so don't offer it)

• Presenter mode in PowerPoint (because the program was not created for this, this is a slide show)
  
• VLC or some other standard player (since the viewer will see the switch and there is no normal control)
  
• Wirecast (satisfied with almost everything, but too fancy and demanding on hardware)
  
• KVM switches or hardware video switchers (only one laptop available and not such a big budget)
  

In general, everything. I really count on your help.
I am sure that such software exists, and I am already tired of using crutches.

I would try to include videos and slides with white and black screens in the presentation, and then I would control it with a power point or office remote.
