SMS and OSI model. Is it possible to forge headers and send a message over the internet?
Hello toast!
Carried this question for a long time. Decided to ask here.
The antenna of my smartphone allows you to use the mobile Internet, as well as receive SMS messages.
At the same time, at the physical level, the packets arrive at the same place, but, obviously, the work is established according to different protocols.
The question is, what protocol is used when sending / receiving SMS, and what headers at different OSI levels correspond to it?
Is it possible to somehow intercept (inside the OS) this packet for examination, and in particular change the ipv6 packet header, say so that it is in the presentation/application layer, recognized as an SMS packet and forwarded to the OS to the appropriate application?
If we simplify the wording of the question as much as possible: "Can I, having specified the necessary headers for the packet, send an SMS via the Internet?"

It's called SS7
. To get access to it, you need to register a small, but real Telecom.
Well, or use someone else's registration.
