SmartTV HD player - are there any?
I don’t like TVs and won the diagonal race a long time ago by putting myself a projector and a 100-inch screen.
But the question of choosing a player every few years has become relevant since I decided that a computer and a projector are two different devices and we should not use them together.
The bottom line is that right now the choice of HD players is not a problem, but the era of SmartTV is coming. But are there any players that have the same capabilities as in TV sets from Samsung? Well, to a bunch of all sorts of applications, podcasts there and all sorts of widgets? Or maybe there are even players on the android ??
It is necessary that MKV for 20 gigs without brakes shows and at the same time rummaged through the Internet like a TV set from Samsung ...
Are there any? For the right money, of course...

I have been using www.iconbit.ru/products/100093/ for about a year . There are a lot of alternative firmwares that themselves go to the Internet for IPTV, show the weather, download torrents, and play movies on the network.
iconbit also has a couple of interesting pieces of iron on android:
1. Toucan W www.iconbit.ru/products/android/103340/
+ there is wifi
+ keyboard-remote like lg smart tv
+ Android with the ability to install a lot of programs
+ SD card reader, usb
2. XDS1003D www.iconbit.ru/products/players/103531/
+ HDMI 1.4 with blueray menu support
+ space for screw 3.5 sata 2
+ firmware with 2 OS - player for playback and android
optional wifi
the cons of all this is that they sell it all under the iconbit brand (accordingly, there are original ones, where the firmware can be a little fresher). and therefore almost no support. judging by the history, they have a raw device, they finish it a little and, as something new comes out, they score on support. in principle, you can understand them, since they do not support them themselves, but the Chinese. they only sell clones of devices under their own brand. and it is very difficult to get something from the Chinese. I know from my company, we sell video recorders and it is very difficult to explain to the Chinese that something else is needed.
By the way, LG has a separate smart TV box www.lg.com/ru/tv-audio-video/videos/LG-high-resolution-blu-ray-players-ST600.jsp
this is the same as inside the TV. By the way, I own LG LV3700 smart tv, if you are interested, I can tell you. overall a good thing. plays well with screw / flash, youtube, evie, zoomby - the most useful of the applications. the browser can only flash lite, so most sites with players do not work. firmware appear quite often, it is updated itself, but there is little standing in them. People seem to have taken up the revision of Samung's smart TV more actively.
I really like usability - and it's convenient to find / play movies and music. now I want to have an HP microserver to build a torrent-rocking chair and a DLNA server on it to distribute the downloaded video to my smart TV.
And if you take a Chinese media player on Android?
Here, for example, is a very tasty thing:
1080P Full HD Android 2.3 Media Player with SD / LAN / HDMI / USB (Black)
I think that the Cortex A8 1.2GHz will definitely not experience problems with flash, widgets, etc.
I also bought a projector, I have been using it for 2 months with Eva Vision. evaaa.ru
There are many pluses and some minuses. There is IP TV. Reads all possible formats, BD3D in the amount of 47GB eats and does not think. Other formats are the same. There is a torrent client, however, as for me, it's very inconvenient. Developers like from the EKB (this is a plus in terms of focusing on the Russian user), periodically modify the firmware by correcting errors.
Glitches, the truth is the sea, when you exit from watching the video, the player hits the ears with a click (connected via optics); responds to the remote control up to 5 seconds; settings periodically fly off ... And so on.
