Slim. Move variables to a separate file?

I decided to try slim + node.js + other technologies ~~are not the point~~ .
In principle, I figured out the necessary base, sufficient for work.
But I would also like to understand whether it is possible to put variables in a separate file in slim ( like something var.slim )?
And if so, how to call and use them in the future?
