Skype: remote and local hotswitch between two cameras?
Hello.
I take guitar lessons via Skype. The bottom line is that I have two cameras and the angle sometimes needs to be changed, and then again. But I would like to switch between two cameras with the click of a button, rather than drag and drop one active webcam. Those. imagine that during the conversation, I want to give a more general view from above, so that the teacher can see what he needs there. And I would like to delegate this opportunity to the teacher, so that he himself clicks between them. Those. the task is not trivial. In fact, I don’t even have a choice between two webcams. Well, as it were, there are alternatives to Skype that provide such a feature.
Like I have Linux. And the most that I came up with is a virtual webcam that takes video from real ones, to choose from. Those. stir up the device. It seems like in v4linux it gives some possibilities there. Well, remote switching is only by chat parsing. I don't know if this is real. But there is a Skype plugin for Pidgin. This means that you can open it and filter incoming messages. For example, the teacher writes `front` - switching to the front camera, `top` - to the top one. Not very convenient, because not pressing a key. But still. The teacher has a Mac, but I do not think that he will agree to install any third-party software and other freezes. Yeah, I don't want to bother him either.
And there is another option that I'm just behind the times and there is some completely different approach, not so confused.
Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks a lot.
