2. Enter %AppData%\skype and press Enter
3. In the folder that opens, look for and delete the shared.xml file

Version 3 doesn't work for me either. Skype freezes, and when Skype freezes, any program accessing the Internet freezes. In this case, the task manager refuses to start.
