Sitemap or sitemap.xml?

Hello! There is a website with goods, many categories, purely goods, information about the product, a button to find out how to buy, after clicking on which the mobile number is displayed and that's it. There are no comments, information about the product is updated extremely rarely, mostly new products are added. Hence the question about the sitemap or sitemap for bots.
I have a sitemap on my site that shows all the categories of my products. But it's not XML, it's just a page. Is it worth doing an additional xml sitemap? If so, do you need to add products to xml, if after adding a product it is updated very rarely?

Be sure to make the xml version. Significantly improve page indexing speed. Add all indexed pages, including product pages.
Additionally, I recommend setting up last-modified server responses to save the bot index resource.
