Similar languages to kotlin?
Hello everyone, tell me which direction to choose? I used to study androyd and kotlin for about 10 months, I studied well, I liked everything, but there are about a hundred vacancies in the city, and there are five times more applicants, so alas, after a year of waiting and sending resumes to everyone several times in a row, I never got anywhere they took it, but you need to work, for the year of study I used up all the savings. Tell me where else can I try to squeeze in so that my knowledge is at least somehow useful, otherwise I’ll just learn something from scratch, there’s not so much motivation as then, I don’t believe that they can take it without education and long-term mentoring) There are no problems with English in general, I watched tons of videos in English, read literature, read articles, googled, I understand and translate everything fine.
Thanks everyone for the replies!

If this is your first job as a programmer, then it will be difficult regardless of the language, no one needs beginners. For this reason, it is worth choosing to start with the language in which there are the most vacancies in your region. And this is definitely not Kotlin with all its advantages:
In addition, you need to stand out from the crowd of applicants. It is probably worth working on the attractiveness of the resume and starting pet projects. It may be worth working on the scope and depth of the theoretical base.
If you have not found a job in a year, then there are three options.
1. Knowledge is significantly below the market. I think, having carefully studied the vacancies, you can understand what technologies are required and what you need to learn. Do not be afraid to ask for feedback at a technical interview, if you didn’t try to slip by chance, most likely they will say something useful.
2. Want money more than the market (for your level). Reduce your salary by 10-20-30%.
3. Just bad luck. And it happens, then just keep looking.
Changing the programming language in your situation is not the most reasonable solution; on the contrary, it is better to point-wise improve your knowledge of Kotlin.
And yes, you were given good advice in the comments - do not limit yourself to your city, look for remote work in Moscow / St. Petersburg / Minsk, and even in Germany / Cyprus / Ireland, if your English level allows.
