Signing applications for publication in the Android Market

Hello, dear Habra community! Maybe I'm asking a lamer question, or maybe my English is not very good, but still. From the official Google documentation, I still did not understand how to sign applications for their publication on the Android Market and whether it is necessary to do this at all. After all, when you register in the Market, it immediately offers to “download the first application”. If necessary, where to get the developer's private key. Can someone more experienced clarify the situation? Thanks in advance.

Applications must be signed so that the market can verify that you are the author of the application when updating.
You can sign your apk through your sdk's tools, or through ant (it will do this itself if you generated the build script through the sdk), or, most simply, through the IDE. What in eclipse, what in IDEA, there is an item like "Extract signed package". The wizard will offer you to create a keystore and a key in it, and then sign the apk with this key. Back up the keystore and don't lose the password from it!

1 eclipse.right click on the project.Android Tools.Expot Signed Application Package - next
2 Create new keystore - next
3 Location: D:\...\...\...\<enter the name of the keystore> (Example - D :\ Android \keystore\ ks
) \app2.apk) 7 Compiling... Ok. the end
